I was born in Detroit, Michigan. My mother was an artist, my step-father was also an artist. It seemed only natural that I would soon become interested in pursuing a career of an artistic nature. I earned my living in the graphic arts field for forty-five years which were invaluable in preparation of my life long quest to be a fine arts oil painter.
Memberships have included: The San Diego Museum of Art Artist Guild, San Diego Art Institute, Foothills Art Association, East Country Art Association, Bonita Artist Potpourri, Lakeside Palette Club, Mt. Clemens Art Association, The Anton Art Center, Warren Tri-County Fine Arts Inc. and the Scarab Club.
I started painting in 1969. Moved to San Diego in 1987. Paintings from 1987 to 2011 were painted in San Diego County where I had no need to go anywhere else. I had the ocean, foothills, mountains and desert for my inspiration and the strong sun light coming from the great San Diego weather.
I moved back to Michigan in October 2012 and will now paint the four seasons. What a beautiful world we live in.
